you know what? I have enough of people in this business trying to sell a fake future to every pretty girl on the planet. Modeling is a very serious job and it’s not easy and it’s not for every pretty face around.
Like any other job it is a matter of passion and dedication. It means to be smart enough to understand what image the business is looking for in a model and the best way to sell that image. It’s a very hard job, with people, and sometimes perverts, judging you every single day and even more times a day at the castings.
Trying to travel the world with a pretty face bouncing between a model agency and another is something, but trying to be a professional model is something totally different.
And when you see a shot like this one of Eva Herzigova for the Roberto Cavalli campaign, you see what I say. A single frame that could be like a normal one, turned into something great because of the model playing the perfect role for that single shot, feeling that dress like her own skin.
That’s modeling, not just a pretty face.
I’ve seen models changing pose and moving interpretating the dress they were wearing for every single shot of my camera.
I’ve seen beautiful girls giving nothing in front of the camera, thinking that the pretty face was enough. Nothing can be more wrong in this job.
And because modeling is a very serious job and every single minute in this business means money, a lot of money, we can’t even think to waste our time.
