it was crazy enough.
In the 90s I was dreaming this job, I was looking at the fashion magazines while I was living between Milan and Paris where the winter can really be cold…. and I was dreaming Miami Beach.
Then I met Gianni Versace one day in Milan and we started talking about Miami and his new house in Ocean Drive.
So, I contacted a couple of mags in NYC and I was on my flight in a few days.
And when I got there it was even better than in my dreams.
We had the castings at the hotels, close to the swimming pool while drinking mojitos.
The models came at the castings wearing bikinis and taking a swim while waiting.
It was like paradise, I still remember the Milano Café and the Irene Marie Model agency.
A lot has changed in the last 20 years, because the fashion industry has changed a lot.
But to my eyes, Miami and the South Florida is still one of the best open air and natural light studios ever in all the world.
A perfect place to live, to work and to enjoy life.
