I know it’s crazy. So long time ago… I was coming back from Miami Beach where we had like 2 fashion editorials a day and finally we were heading back to Italy for a little holiday at home.
When they called me to send the new schedule with my connecting flight in NYC with a 3 days stay in the city.
When I got there I knew the truth.
We had a credit for the Sports Illustrated magazine to access the Giant Stadium in NYC to take some shots.
I didn’t get why the wanted a fashion photographer to shoot a soccer event, but I am italian, so I love soccer and the teams involved that day, so I was thinking it was a good experience.
In the following years some of the shots have been published in some magazines around the world but I was not there for money, I was there ’cause I love soccer.
And if you love soccer you know there was a guy that was considered a genius for 15 years in Italy and Europe: his name is Andrea Pirlo and he’s never been a regular player, he’s always been like 1 in a million talent.
It was such a great day. A great experience full of amazing people. I personally met some of those guys in the following years. Something to keep in a great memory.
Let the memories coming out from your old slides to rule the way you want to take pictures today.
