I started taking pictures when I was 19. I was living very close to Milan. It was 1991 and of course I was shooting fashion because every single photographer in those years in Milan was shooting fashion.
In the last 29 years I’ve been living in Paris, New York, Miami Beach. Lauderdale by the Sea, Sunrise, Islamorada, Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica, Westwood, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Bel Air.
Not forgetting London, where I still have my studio and my company.
All of these places have a little space in my heart. I learned a lot about my job and about life for the amazing people I met on my journey in every single place I’ve been living.
With no money in my wallet, I shared rooms with models and creatives from every place in the world and that was the best experience of my life.
Those years when I didn’t have a manager and No money in my wallet. I used to eat at the McDrive even 2 times a day because it was cheaper. Those years when I was jogging around the UCLA with my friend almost every day. She was in LA to study and to act. Now she’s a great actress and we still laughs when we talk about those years when I used to invite her to Malibu during the weekends but I had to pay attention if I had enough money for the fuel… and she used to prepare sandwiches for both of us.
Well, believe it or not, I could have a little more money in my wallet, maybe some credit cards today, but sometimes I wanna go back to those years, those moments. I wish I could stop the time and just go back… for the weekend… just when I need it.
So, if you are living that time right night, don’t be a fool, enjoy every single breath you take because you are gonna miss it for the rest of your life.
