you know when I wrote that this is a team work. Well, even if at the very beginning of your career you can think and you try to do everything by yourself, when you grow up (professionally talking) you know that is you wanna do the best you must have the right people on location.
And yes, the location manager is very important, mostly for the ones hating the cold and too much expressed studios. I don’t care if we work in a cold or wet weather, everything and every story has its own location, and the right people can find it.
I give everyone on location the same importance, and I know how the location is one of the most important.
The right location can really improve your day, the wrong one can kill your job and your career.
Yes, in the past I’ve been shooting 3 editorials a day in the same hotel, because I had no other choice.
But let me tell you, whenever you can and you start addressing the shoot to the right location, you are flying to the top, because you know how much a story is important to be visually written.
