I’m telling you, this is a very hard job. The most part of the times we are on location at 4AM waiting for the make up artist and hair stylist to be done at 5.30AM.
And when you had a night flight to be on time… everything you need is a huge amount of coffee…
and people smiling and laughing around you. ????????

I start loving to do reviews. But what I love the most is taking the creative side of the tools we use to take the pictures.
I mean I love talking about cameras, but I love it from the point of view of a photographer who just care about the final result. The camera is just a tool, but it has to be a good one.

I am that kind of a morning person… wherever I am, I feel like I need to wake up early and enjoy the sunlight. Laying in bed waiting for the time to pass over me… it’s not exactly my thing. And photography helped me a lot about that. I always felt every single day in my life at least in the last 33 years to have a passion stronger than anything else that pushed me to jump out of my bed with the same passion… every day. ????????

“A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he’ll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?”
John Grogan – Marley and Me

I’ve always been in love with the aerial photography and in today’s world we can’t have a commercial, a movie or a tv show without some drone images. At least I’m talking at the high level. And if yesterday we only had the chance to take images from up in the air with helicopters, today we can have the same stunning results and quality with a drone. And yes, you need a licence and a certificate to fly a drone and I think it’s right. At least I invested in some good time while in lockdown… ????

One of the great challenges in this world is knowing enough about a subject to think you are right… but not enough about the subject to know you are wrong – Neil deGrasse Tyson
I’ve been living the life I used to dream when I was young. I reached my goals and I was flying between London and LA in first class at least 4 times a month. I used to have my reserved room in some of the most luxurious hotels in the world and seriously in those years I’ve been living in hotels more than in a real house or apartment.
But something was missing. I didn’t feel complete. I mean, when I was 20 and 30 that was a dream life. Working hard between Miami Beach and NYC, jumping to LA and back in 24 hours and being ready for a shooting in Paris the morning after. Well, something was missing. I was running every day like crazy, it was never enough. My managers pressed me to do more and more, to make more and more money because everything is related with money in this business.
Well, one day I said “That’s ok, I did my best, I reached my dreams, now I can stop for awhile”. And even with penalties to pay, I decided it was the perfect time to stop.
Now I live at the farm and because of the coronavirus I spend the most part of my time home. I even built my own studio in one of the labs inside the same farm.
Well, I feel home, I feel satisfied, I feel happy but most of all I feel alive.
I deconstructed my life step by step in the last 10 years. I embraced minimalism and meditation and my life changed like I wanted it to change.

I started reading about healthy life even if with my daughter we cook hamburgers at the barbecue every weekend and I keep fighting with my diet…????????
Of course I will always travel and work in LA or London but now I can manage my own professional life with managers and agents that respect my needs.
I live off the grid and I don’t need anything else in my life.

I’ve been living in London, NYC, Paris, LA, Miami in the last 30 years but I was born in Milan and when you grow up in the fashion capitol of the world in the 90s, you gotta have some kind of connection with fashion.
To me, fashion gave me the opportunity to see the world behind the lens of the style and it’s been such an amazing trip. Because of that, every single shot I take I know even if I don’t want, I’ll take a special look at the fashion aspect, at the style and at the make up and hair style, just so you know…????
did it ever happened to you? to me I think at least a couple of times a year…????
when you land in Miami, or wherever and your luggage is not right there with you… and in a few mins they tell you that your stuff is in LA or Sydney or Buenos Aires…
Panic, because you don’t even have your underwear and every single minute has been scheduled during your stay.
Then you pick up your rental car and you stop on your way wherever to buy something in a few minutes because that’s all you have… a few minutes.
And when you dress up later that day on location you realise that you picked up the wrong sizes… so bad????
the best definition I’ve found: in chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. … A very small change in initial conditions had created a significantly different outcome.
I’m in love with this theory and I’ve always been thinking that there must be some kind of truth within those words. ????

As a photographer I started in Milan in the 90s when the city was simply the fashion capitol of the world. Since then, fashion has always been a huge part of my life and even when I’m shooting in LA with some celebs I always need to know that the fashion aspects of the shooting is always at the highest level possible.
