Needed to check this out and I get it why everybody love it ????
That was the show. Beverly Hills 90210 was the show in the 90s. And in some kind of ways Jason Priestley and Co. they have been one of the reasons why I moved to LA in 1994.
I was asked by a fashion italian mag to portrait some of the stars from the show in a totally new way.
That’s what I did. At the end of the working day, I shot Jason moving back to his motorhome before going home.
We were in Culver City, very close to LA and it was 1994.
The production and the managers asked me to wait till the end of the filming sessions…
I was on location at around 5AM and I had a chance to take a few pics at 6PM…???????? but those days changed my life and LA just became my second home.
I still remember that day, during a break I met a man at the catering table and I was talking about horses with the make up artist and that man grabbed something from the same table and wanted to be part of the conversation like if we were close friends since years. At the end when they called him on set he turned to me saying… “hey, I’m Luke, btw…”
I met that man (totally different from all the Hollywood people) a couple of times more in my life and if you ask me I know for sure, right now he’s riding horses somewhere up-there.
have you ever been shooting with a Holga camera? It’s going to be such an amazing experience, mostly when you have a huge range between light and dark on set.

when it comes to travel and you get a chance to work visiting some of the most amazing places on earth… you get how lucky you are.
and you can even find glittering rocks one day on the road.
while on location, everywhere I go, I love to check the working tools.

Then you get the keys and you drive to destination looking at the weather and thinking today is gonna be a drama day!!!????

you know when you are ready to shoot Melinda McGraw balancing on a rooftop in Santa Monica with a huge and heavy camera holding a 300 mm lens…??? ???? and the make up artist and the hair stylist ask for a few secs more… to fix something that you don’t even see from that distance…????
every time I was on my flights to LA I knew what I was doing the very next free day… going at the AX in Sunset Plaza and Foot Locker in Santa Monica. That way I refilled my wardrobe with everything I need… t-shirts, Nike shoes, and AX jeans.????
I used to live in a hotel on Sunset Blvd for many years that was very close to that store and now, when I’m back I miss my AX.
I know there’s one at the Beverly Center, but this store has been part of my life for many years. ????
you know, I’m one of those you can put sh.t on every time that you want to get any reaction… I look like a stupid, I just call it living for what matters.
I’m not a social network guy and you know it, I post sometimes on socials and it’s not my business.
I actually love socials but I don’t have that much time to use them every single day and I’m sorry because many of you keep asking for more images.
BUT
I can transform myself into a real monster if somebody tries to get an opportunity using my name, my pictures and my contacts.
Some people are opening accounts on social media to get in touch with some of the celebs I know and I’m in touch with because of my job.
That’s not nice at all and to be honest that is pissing me off.
I am ok if someone is opening some kind of company in another country doing the same job and using the same artistical name. I don’t care.
I mean it’s cheap but who cares… even when they contact google business to try to send the knowledge graphs to their facebook page… funny try.
Then you can get inspired by some of my pics and reproduce the same poses and point of views… it’s ok, we call it part of the game.
But if you use my name to open fake accounts to get in touch with people that you consider “famous” when I consider them “friends” that is really pissing me off, that is really cheap and miserable.
I hope this game will stop soon, or I’ll be forced to take a further step to fight this stupid situation.

Well, it’s really hard to say it and I don’t feel that I can just say a name.
Because it would be a very long list of names…????????
I mean, I’m talking about slides and films, I’m still in love with both of them and I think my love grew up with the digital era.
I know, because of the timeline, because of many reasons we can’t use them for editorial or commercial solutions, but at least when it comes to be about prints and galleries, we can do whatever we want.
because scratches and dust are part of the game with the old slides ???? and in some ways we don’t have t remove everything from old images…
This tool has been my best friend for years and years. I must tell you, I still use it and I use the most modern version of this one, because friends are forever.
Today’s cameras are very close to perfection with the metering but in some bouncing situation the exposure can fall or rise even with a difference of 1 stop.
That’s the reason I still use this tool and I ask my assistant to use it.
Except when they ask me “what is that???” and I get crazy…????
when you spend your life running and running between a gate and another, you start loving the priority boarding like nothing else…????

People go crazy about this matter and today the rankings rule.
If you are under 300k in Alexa your company can have a value of $500k and when you reach 100k you can get a $1MLN company…????
If you search for top ranked keywords and your company is there you have a net value that is very high.
Ok, these are financial matters… but what I’ve been learning during the years traveling around the globe is that the world changes and we must find a way to accept it and to change our companies towards new values.
Today a picture in Instagram is having more value than a Vogue cover…?!?!?
Maybe in some cases YES, because Instagram get millions of visitors a day, while Vogue gets a few thousands.
Today a ranking can give you the real value of your company or yourself as an artist…??? Yes it can be.
Absolutely. Because the world is changing and we must accept it.
Well, 18 years ago I started posting some stupid things about my travels, my life and my job online.
In a few days I realized that visitors came back to see the new posts, to read my new stories… many visitors, many visitors.
And today they are even more with thousands a day pushing this website at the top rankings.
I know it’s crazy because you can get 10 fashion mags covers working for free (a lot of photographers are doing it for less than nothing…) and you are totally unknown.
Instead, if you get a high ranking even if you are just a blogger and you can ask $75k just as the booking fee to move your ass for any kind of job.
The world is changing and you’d better get it as soon as you can.
Anyway, again, after 18 years I’m still posting stupid things on my website and you are still a lot coming back and growing day by day.
I really appreciate that and thanks to the people coming back I never feel alone even when I’m traveling.

sometimes I can’t choose at what time we can shoot. Sometimes it’s just a matter of schedules that must mix together between me, the actress, the make up artist, the hair stylist and the stylist…???? and if you have more than 1 shooting a day booked… you just take what you can and never complain
